Dear Cabrillo Families:

This is a year of new beginnings and continued successes.  I’m delighted to join the committed and caring staff at Juan Cabrillo Elementary School as the new principal.  With you, I appreciate the beautiful building and state of the art facility we see from the outside and am increasingly amazed by the deeper treasures on the inside as I meet the teachers, staff, parents, and children. 

Welcome to a new school year at Cabrillo, where we learn and grow together.  It is my pleasure to welcome back our many returning families, and also to welcome our new students and parents who are joining our Cabrillo community.  You are part of a great place for learning and growing.

Please review the attached flyers which detail:
1) Time schedules, entrance and dismissal procedures, and class lists for BOOST Pre-School, Kindergarten, and 1st and 2nd grade.

2) Cabrillo School Valet Service

3) The list of supplies each student should have to begin the 2009-2010 school year.

As you prepare for the new school year, please note the following dates and information:

• September 8                        Class lists are posted: 1:45 pm for K, 6:00 pm for 1st & 2nd
• September 8                        Kindergarten Orientation  2:15 pm – 3:00
• September 9                        First Day of School – Minimum Day Schedule
• September 10-18                Shortened Day Schedule
• September 21                      Early Bird/Late Bird Schedule Begins
• September  23                     Back to School Night (Parents Only)
• September 25                      No School:  Staff Development Day

The school will provide a calendar detailing each month’s events.

With the entire staff at Cabrillo School, we look forward to sharing a year of learning and growth.  We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching early childhood learning environment. We eagerly anticipate celebrating your children’s many successes in the 2009-10 school year.
